they think I am a clutz
while trying to clean house and move things for christmas i broke my finger. so if things are spelled wrong i"m sorry it is very hard to type without your middle finger. We have a wooden truck my cousin made the boys sitting on top of the china hutch, I moved the hutch out , plugged in a lamp moved it back with no problem. I saw some marbles laying behind the hutch and waned to pick them up before the little boy I watch found them. I bent over and heard something move but did'"t get my hand out of the way. It broker my middle finger, right above the last joint at a diagonal. It is in a splint, the purple, grey, blue, green color is subsiding but it still throbs ans feels like it is swelling. Going to x-ray it again tomorrow, pray it is healing right, otherwise I have to have it pinned. YUCK!!!

What a weekend
Friday night as a family ran a 5K at a local amusement park. The little boys rode in the bike stroller and actually slept the entire run. My husband pushed the boys and the older ones walked with him. They let me run ahead and sometimes behind them. I managed to run about 80% of the race. The massive hills killed me and had to walk up them. The lights were beautiful around the park and once it stopped raining it was great. The little boys fell asleep right before we started and woke up at the finish line. My 6 year old asked when are we going to run, we had to break it to him that we had just finished. When we got to car he asked if we had won. I told him of course we did. Saturday we went to the inlaws for a little while then home to watch a movie and have supper. It was just a great weekend of relaxing and having time together.

Ok, last night I realized I do way to much. After babysitting yesterday and fixing supper I had two home visits back to back then had a park board meeting which I was late to. Then home to finally get to eat dinner, rested for a little bit and went and ran 3 miles. I have got to figure out what I want to do this next school year. Do I want to continue babysitting so I can go to my kids parties at school, and if they get sick I can be with them. Or should I go and find a "real" job and miss watching my kids grow up, being there after school and when they get sick having to take off work. It is a real problem that I have been facing. I really want to just get paid to stay home, if you know of such a job let me know. I was just thinking of all the things I do. I am a wife, mom, daughter, runner, babysitter, parent educator, cheer coach, 4-H leader, park board president, church goer, christmas program asst. director.....I think that is all I do.
We had a fun Halloween weekend, Friday night we went to the mall, Saturday we went to Brent and Denise's for a family party and spooky hayride. Sunday church then trick or treating. The kids had a great time and got lots of candy. Busy week besides babysitting, I need to catch up on paperwork for work, Lucy gets her braces off today, and cleaning the church basement on Saturday...and that's just the highlights. Better get busy with the paperwork then lunch.

Whirlwind Friday
We were out of school today, fall break. So I started the day at 6...yuck. I picked mom up at 6:30 and we headed to Curves. It is more fun every time we go, there is a group of ladies that are there the same time every morning waiting for the doors to open. We chit chat and exercise and of course talk about the happenings of the world. When I got home , my husband and I had to run back to town to go view the family pictures we had done a couple weeks ago. At Curves if you lose 12 inches you get on the "Foot Board" and receive a gift card to a local photographer. So for $170 I get a 8 X 10 picture, which I could afford to buy some, but $180 for a 9 x 14 picture is just to much. It will be ready in 3 weeks. Then is was time to work in the back yard and doctor "Oliver's" foot. He is now sporting a teal colored wrap on his paw. Tonight we went to the mall to go trick or treating. WOW there was a lot of people there. I am totally drained and ready for bed if I could just breath. I hate allergies. After rereading this post, I can really tell I am tired, it is just rambling. Night ya'll

Week in a nutshell.....
I looked out the window and saw chickens running loose. I sent my son out to round up the chickens, he come running in saying "Oliver" the goat was hurt and bleeding. I ran out to see blood all over his leg and he couldn't walk. We assume he had jumped up on the lean to part of the coop, which we had tin on to keep them out of it, and cut his foot. I ran out to my parents and got some "doctor" stuff. We got him all fixed up and then had to work on fixing the coop. I will post pictures later of Oliver's cast. Then we ran to the hospital to see my husbands aunt who had open heart surgery.
Yesterday was a whirlwind day.....my 1st grader had his Halloween party at school, I took the kids I watch with me and we walked the LOOONNNGGG parade with them, packed everyone up , dropped some at home and ran to the dentist for my daughter. She found out it will be another week of braces before they come off. YEAH!!!
I just had to run outside, my 4 year old can in and said "Max destoried the fence, you have to come see." Short version Max destroyed the fence. "Max" the goat had broke the chicken wire around the bottom to get the feed. So now we have to fix that tonight when hubby gets home... We also have a football game tonight and I get to see my best friend from high school. See like I said , it's never boring around here.

Here we go.......My first post
I have done this before, be quit because I didn't have the time. Now it is mostly just to keep my sanity. In the last couple of months I have went from a part time parent educator to a full time babysitter, part time parent educator, part time cheer coach on top of church activities and kids activities. My life has turned around big time. On the upside, I have decided I need to finally get healthy. In June I started running with a friend of mine. To up the ante, I signed up for a 5K race. Well after 3 months of training with Couch to 5K, I ran my race in September. It felt great to accomplish something. My hubby finally decided to join me along with my two older kids. We run 3 nights a week. The kids take turns running with us.
I am hoping to also write about our hectic, spastic and amazing life on our little "farm".
We live on a small acre of land on the edge of my small home town. We have 4 kids, 4 goats, 4 dogs, 1 cat and 14 chickens. Let me tell you there is never a dull minute here. So hang on and enjoy the ride, WE DO!
